Manual transmission repair
Manual transmission repair clears noises, gears that pop out and hard shifts by treating the real cause inside the gearbox.
What it is and how we do it
A manual gearbox uses gears, synchronizers, forks and bearings to send engine power to the wheels. Over time these parts wear, creating play, noise and hard shifting. We check the shift linkage, the level and condition of the oil, and how each gear engages.
When needed we open the case and replace synchronizers, bearings, forks or damaged gears, always using the oil specified by the manufacturer. We service gearboxes on domestic and imported cars.
Symptoms and when to come in
A gear that grinds or is hard to select, a box that jumps out of gear on its own, noise that changes with the gear engaged, and a shaky shifter are typical signs. Old oil speeds up synchronizer wear.
If one specific gear is hard or noisy, do not force it — visit the shop before the damage spreads to other gears.
