Drum brakes
Drum brake service restores rear braking and the parking brake with correct shoes, cylinders and adjustment.
What it is and how we do it
In drum brakes, the shoes expand against the drum to brake, a common setup on the rear axle of many cars and tied to the parking brake. We strip the assembly, measure the drum and shoes, check the wheel cylinders, springs and self-adjuster, and clean out all the brake dust.
We replace shoes and cylinders when needed, resurface or replace the drum depending on its measurement, and set the adjustment. We serve domestic and imported cars.
Symptoms and when to come in
A parking brake that does not hold well, noise or scraping at the rear, a low pedal, weak braking on the rear axle or fluid leaking near the wheel are signs the drum needs attention.
Built-up moisture and dust can jam the self-adjuster and stiffen the cylinders. A periodic check keeps the rear braking evenly.
Why it matters and why Mr. Service
The rear brake complements the front and supports the parking brake; if it is weak or out of adjustment, braking becomes unbalanced and the car may not hold still on a slope. Correct adjustment is safety.
In Chácara Santo Antônio, we service the whole assembly, give a detailed quote, a 3-month warranty, serve all brands and speak Portuguese, English and Turkish.
