Brake rotors
Brake rotor replacement clears pedal shudder and restores the surface that keeps braking firm.
What it is and how we do it
The rotor is the surface the pad works against to brake. With use it thins, can warp from heat or develop grooves. We measure thickness and variation, check for warping and decide with you between resurfacing (when there is enough material) or replacing.
We change rotors in pairs per axle, together with pads when needed, and clean and fit them correctly. We work with vented, solid and imported-car rotors, always to the car’s specification.
Symptoms and when to come in
Shudder in the pedal or steering wheel when braking at speed is the classic sign of a warped rotor. Deep grooves, a raised lip, squealing and uneven braking also point to a rotor at its end.
Very thin rotors lose the ability to shed heat and can crack. Replacing within spec keeps you safe and protects the new pads.
Why it matters and why Mr. Service
The rotor is half of the brake friction pair; good rotors make pads last and braking stay stable, without shudder. An unsuitable part warps easily and brings the problem back.
In Chácara Santo Antônio, we measure carefully, advise resurfacing or replacement honestly, give a detailed quote, a 3-month warranty, serve all brands and speak Portuguese, English and Turkish.
Frequently asked questions
- Can it be resurfaced instead of replaced?
- If there is material within spec, yes; otherwise we advise replacement.
- Do I replace both sides?
- Yes, in pairs per axle, for balanced braking.
- Should I change pads too?
- We recommend checking; new rotors with worn pads spoil the result.
