Brake fluid & bleeding
A brake fluid change and bleed restore a firm pedal and remove the moisture that undermines braking.
What it is and how we do it
Brake fluid carries pedal force to the wheels and must resist high temperature. It is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air over time, which lowers its boiling point and can cause a spongy pedal or brake loss under hard use. We test the fluid condition and replace it with the correct specification (the maker’s DOT).
We bleed the whole circuit to remove air and old fluid, in the correct sequence, and check for leaks and the reservoir level. We serve domestic and imported cars, including ABS systems.
When to do it
A spongy or low pedal, brakes fading on long descents, or simply the maker’s recommended interval signal the time. Dark fluid or high measured moisture also calls for replacement.
After any repair that opens the circuit — caliper, cylinder, hose — bleeding is mandatory to remove air.
Why it matters and why Mr. Service
Old fluid is a silent failure: everything seems normal until hard braking, when a low boiling point can cause brake loss. Changing it on schedule is cheap maintenance that protects your safety.
