Hoses & thermostat
Hoses and the thermostat control coolant flow and pressure; faults here cause leaks and runaway engine temperature.
What it is and how we do it
Hoses carry coolant between engine, radiator and reservoir, while the thermostat regulates when that coolant circulates, letting the engine warm to the right temperature. We inspect for dried, swollen or loosely clamped hoses and test the thermostat opening.
A thermostat stuck closed overheats the engine; stuck open makes it slow to warm up, raising fuel use and wear. We confirm the behaviour before recommending replacement.
Symptoms and when to come
Leaks, fluid on the ground, temperature running too high or never rising, slow warm-up, and hardened or bulging hoses. Old hoses can burst suddenly, especially with a hot engine.
Why it matters and why Mr. Service
These are cheap parts whose failure causes expensive engine damage through overheating. At Mr. Service we test the system, replace only what is needed, serve all domestic and imported brands, quote before starting and back labour with a 3-month warranty. We speak Portuguese, English and Turkish.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I know it is the thermostat?
- By the temperature behaviour; we test to confirm.
- Replace all hoses?
- Only the failing ones; we check each.
- Is there a warranty?
- Yes, 3 months on labour.
