Excessive smoke diagnosis
The colour of the smoke tells a lot about the engine — we use that, plus tests, to find the cause before any costly repair.
What the smoke means
Colour is the first clue: blue smoke usually points to oil burning; thick white can indicate coolant entering combustion; black suggests excess fuel or an injection fault. Each case has its own checks.
At Mr. Service we combine reading the control unit with compression and pressure tests, plus component inspection, to confirm the source instead of guessing at parts.
When to investigate
Persistent smoke from the exhaust, higher-than-normal oil consumption, a strong smell, power loss or a lit check-engine light are reasons to check soon.
Smoke can signal anything from a low-cost item to a more serious internal issue. Diagnosing early keeps a simple repair from becoming an engine rebuild.
How we work
Correct diagnosis first, detailed quote next — we only proceed after your approval, with a 3-month warranty on labour. We service petrol, flex and diesel engines of every brand, domestic and imported, with service in Portuguese, English and Turkish.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the colour define the problem?
- It points the way, but we confirm with tests. Different colours point to different causes; the diagnosis defines the right repair.
- Is smoke only at start-up serious?
- Not always; it can be temporary. If it is persistent or comes with oil consumption, bring it in for a check.
- Does this apply to diesel too?
- Yes. We diagnose diesel, flex and petrol engines, domestic and imported, and send a quote before the repair.
