Cabin air filter

Also called the pollen or cabin filter, it traps dust, pollen, soot and allergens before the air reaches passengers through the ventilation and air-conditioning system.

We locate the filter (behind the glovebox or under the hood, depending on the model), assess its state and replace it with the correct type, including activated-carbon versions where specified.

Weak airflow even at maximum, a musty smell when the AC turns on, windows fogging easily and worse allergies inside the car point to a saturated filter.

Replace it per your manual and sooner if you drive a lot in traffic, dust or near roadworks. It is worth checking at every service.

A clogged filter overworks the blower motor, cuts AC efficiency and affects the air you breathe — important for allergy sufferers.
