Alternator
The alternator recharges the battery and powers the electrics while the engine runs; if it fails, the car goes flat and stops mid-journey.
What it is and how we do it
The alternator is the car generator: with the engine running it recharges the battery and powers the lights, injection and all electronics. We measure the charging voltage, test the regulator and check the belt and pulley, telling an alternator problem apart from a battery one.
When needed we assess repair (regulator, brushes, bearings) or replacement, always confirming the real cause of the charging fault before quoting.
Symptoms and when to come
Battery warning light on, headlights that pulse in brightness, a battery that keeps going flat, a burnt-belt smell, and electrical faults while driving. Ignoring these usually ends in a total electrical failure.
