Shock absorbers

A shock absorber is a hydraulic cylinder that damps the springs when the car hits potholes, speed bumps and dips. Without it the body would keep bouncing and the tire would lose contact with the road.

At Mr. Service we check for oil leaks, play, bump stops and mounts, and assess the assembly in motion before recommending replacement — so a good part is never swapped needlessly.

A car that “floats” or sways, nose-dives under braking, keeps bouncing after bumps, wears tires unevenly or makes dull knocking noises is showing classic worn-shock signs.

Have them checked at regular services and whenever you notice lost stability in corners or on wet roads.

Worn shocks lengthen braking distance and reduce control — this is a safety item, not just comfort. We always replace them in pairs on the same axle to keep balance.
