Serpentine belt, tensioner & pulleys

The serpentine belt drives essentials like the alternator, steering and A/C — caring for it and the tensioner prevents breakdowns and noise.

What it covers

The serpentine (poly-V) belt sends power to the alternator, power-steering pump, A/C compressor and, on many cars, the water pump. Alongside it work the tensioner and pulleys, which keep the correct tension and alignment. We assess and replace these items as a set when needed.

At Mr. Service we check for cracks, wear and noise, and inspect the tensioner and pulley bearings, because one worn part compromises the rest.

Warning signs

Squealing at start-up or under acceleration, a dry or cracked belt, bearing noise and faults in belt-driven items (for example, heavy steering or a battery light) call for a check.

If the serpentine belt breaks, you can lose power steering and battery charging at once. It is a simple job that keeps you from being stranded.

Why Mr. Service

We assess the set, send a detailed quote and only proceed after approval — with a 3-month warranty on labour. We serve every brand, domestic and imported, with service in Portuguese, English and Turkish.

Frequently asked questions

Is squealing at start-up the belt?
Often yes, or the tensioner. We check the tension and component condition before recommending replacement.
Is replacing just the belt enough?
It depends on the state of the tensioner and pulleys. If they are worn, we recommend the set in the quote to avoid a comeback.
Does it work for imported cars?
Yes, every brand. Tell us the model and year; 3-month warranty and a quote before the work.
