Auto repair for imported cars in São Paulo: how to choose

Published on 13 September 20266 min read

Maintaining an imported car — Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Land Rover, Lexus, Mini or Maserati — takes more than an ordinary workshop. These are complex electronic systems with specific torques and procedures, and parts that are not always on the shelf. The good news: you do not depend on the dealership alone.

What a good imported-car workshop needs

  • A scanner that reads the brand’s modules (not just the generic fault code).
  • Proven experience with your type of car, domestic or imported.
  • Access to quality original and aftermarket parts, with a supplier network.
  • A detailed quote, approved before any work.
  • A written warranty on labour.

Dealership vs. specialised workshop

The dealership is only mandatory for recalls and work covered by the factory warranty. Beyond that — especially after the warranty ends — a specialised workshop usually offers the same technical standard at a fairer price and with closer service. What does not change is the requirement: correct diagnosis and the right part.

Diagnosis separates the professional from the amateur

On imported cars, "replacing just in case" is expensive. The right path is computerized diagnostics: the scanner reads fault codes, the check-engine light and the sensors to find the exact cause before any repair. That way you pay for what the car actually needs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take my imported car to a non-dealership workshop?
Yes. Outside recalls and factory-warranty work, you can choose any workshop. A specialised shop with the right scanner and parts delivers the same technical standard and usually a fairer price.
Does an independent workshop void the factory warranty?
Maintenance by a qualified workshop, using parts of the correct specification and keeping a service record, does not void the warranty by itself. Recalls and covered repairs are still done by the authorised network.
Do you have a scanner for my brand?
Yes. We use latest-generation scanners to read the modules of the main imported brands and pinpoint the fault before repairing. Tell us the model and year when requesting a quote.
